Littlebird reads your active window, takes meeting notes, runs routines and acts in your apps. It is a well-made assistant. But its facts page is direct about one thing: for individual users, Littlebird is cloud-based. Your memory lives on AWS, and context goes to AI providers to answer you.
Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro does the same kind of work from a memory that stays on your own computer, read by a model that runs there too. It costs $79.99 once.

Four questions to ask any memory app
- Capture. What does it save, and when?
- Storage. Where does the history live?
- Inference. Which model reads it, and where does that model run?
- Actions. Can it do work for you, and who approves it?

Where the two really differ
Storage. Littlebird's memory is encrypted with AES-256 and stored on AWS. That is strong security, but it is still a copy on someone else's server. Littlebird keeps it "until you delete it or close your account," says its privacy page. OGAD keeps your history on your disk. There is no Off Grid AI server holding it.
Inference. Littlebird sends the context it needs to AI providers. OGAD reads your memory with local models. Littlebird itself says that if you need local-only, it "may not be the right fit today."
Actions. Both apps act for you. Littlebird drafts Gmail but never sends it, and it can create Calendar events and send invites. OGAD drafts replies and issues and sends nothing until you approve each one.
What it costs over three years
| 1 year | 3 years | |
|---|---|---|
| Littlebird Plus, billed yearly | $204 | $612 |
| Littlebird Power, billed yearly | $510 | $1,530 |
| Off Grid AI Pro, lifetime | $79.99 | $79.99 |
God, your chief of staff
Littlebird has routines: saved prompts that run daily, weekly or monthly. OGAD has God, a chief of staff that works from your local memory:
- A morning brief. Your day ahead, with the approvals waiting for you.
- Meeting prep. Notes from last time, with the sources cited.
- What people owe you. Who is waiting on you, and who you are waiting on.
- Rules and routines. Scheduled tasks like a weekday brief, and rules it always follows, such as "never send anything to Acme without asking."
How OGAD remembers your day
- Open Replay and choose Resume capture. The status shows Capturing. Choose Pause capture at any time.
- OGAD saves sampled moments from your screen to your disk.
- A local vision model reads each moment and writes a short note.
- Open Day for a journal, a timeline and your to-dos, and People for each person you work with.
You can exclude apps and delete any moment. See how to delete saved screen activity.
When Littlebird is the better pick
Littlebird runs on any laptop, because its AI runs in the cloud. Its iPhone, Android and web apps let you ask your memory questions away from your desk. It connects to many apps, including Outlook, GitHub, Todoist and Plaud. It offers SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA with a BAA for teams that need them.
If you want a cloud assistant with wide app coverage and no model to download, Littlebird is a good choice. If you want your memory and the model that reads it to stay on your computer, use OGAD.
