Mem calls itself "your AI chief of staff". It keeps your notes and meetings, and you ask its agent about them. Its pricing page caps what you can do. Mem Pro is $29 a month for 100 messages and 100 new notes. Plus is $9 a month for 50 of each.
Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro builds a memory of your work from your screens, meetings, mail and documents. A local model answers, so there is no message cap. The memory stays on your own devices, and you pay once.

How Memory works
- Turn on what Off Grid AI may remember: screen capture, meetings, mail and documents.
- A local model reads each item on your computer and notes the people, projects and decisions.
- Ask a question in chat, such as "what did Sam say about the rollout?"
- The answer comes with its source. Open Why to see the screen, call or mail behind it.
You choose what goes in. You can exclude apps from capture and delete anything.
More than a notes app
Mem keeps your notes. Off Grid AI Pro also acts on them:
- Meetings. Calls recorded without a bot, transcribed and summarised on your computer.
- Actions you approve. Replies and issues through Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion, sent only with your yes.
- God, your chief of staff. A morning brief, routines, meeting prep and what people owe you.
- Reflect. Where your day went, by project, app and person.
- Vault, Clipboard and Sync. Encrypted secrets, a searchable clipboard, and your phone and computer in sync, device to device.
One key covers up to 5 devices.
When Mem is the better pick
Mem is a notes app first. It is a good place to write and organise notes, and you can message it over WhatsApp and email. OGAD is not a notes app first, and it needs a computer that can run a local model. Most Apple silicon Macs and recent PCs can.
If you want a polished notes app with an assistant inside, Mem fits. If you want a memory of everything you worked on, kept on your own devices with no cap, use OGAD.
