Meta Muse is a personal agent for everyday tasks: email, travel, forms and purchases. Meta built real safety into it. A separate agent called Sentinel checks what Muse sends to the internet. But it all happens on Meta's machines. Meta's launch post says "Muse runs on its own dedicated computer in the cloud".
Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro does personal work on your own hardware. Your memory stays on your devices, and every action waits for your yes. There is no Meta account and no cloud computer holding your logins.

Checked 30 October 2026 against Meta's Muse launch post and its subscriptions help page. Off Grid AI's price is a limited-time lifetime offer, down from $119.
What it costs over three years
Muse is free up to a usage limit. Meta's help page lists two paid plans that raise the weekly token allowance.
| 1 year | 3 years | |
|---|---|---|
| Muse Power plan | $240 | $720 |
| Muse Max plan | $1,200 | $3,600 |
| Off Grid AI Pro, lifetime | $79.99 | $79.99 |
If Muse's free tier covers what you do, it costs nothing. The paid plans matter when you hit the weekly limit. OGAD Pro has no token allowance, because the model runs on your hardware.
How an action works in Off Grid AI
- You ask, or God notices something in your day. For example: "Reply to Sam and confirm Friday."
- A local model reads the thread and your notes, then drafts the reply with sources.
- The draft goes to Actions as a pending approval. Nothing is sent.
- You read it. You can open it in chat to change it, then approve or reject it.
- If you approve, OGAD sends it through your Gmail. The approval is written to a log you can open later.
Actions today work through Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion. Connectors use MCP, so you can add others. The guide Connector support in Off Grid AI Desktop shows the fetch, reason and approve steps in detail.
Actions are one part of Pro
Muse knows what you tell it and what its connected apps show it. OGAD Pro builds your context on your own disk:
- Memory. Your screens, meetings, mail and documents become one local memory you can search and ask, with sources.
- God, your chief of staff. A morning brief, meeting prep, and the to-dos people owe you.
- Meetings. Calls recorded without a bot, transcribed and summarised on your computer.
- Reflect. Your time by project, app and person. No timers.
- Vault, Clipboard and Sync. Encrypted secrets, a searchable clipboard, and your devices in sync, device to device. No server keeps a copy.
All of it is in the same $79.99, on up to 5 devices.
Where your data goes
With local models selected, OGAD reads and reasons on your computer. Your memory never goes to a server we run, because we run none.
Sending mail through Gmail still uses Gmail. Creating a Notion page still uses Notion. Those services see what you send them, as they always do. If you pick a remote model, the context for that answer goes to that provider.
When Meta Muse is the better pick
Be fair to yourself. Muse is free for most uses, and it needs no computer at all. You can use it on a phone, on the web, or by message in WhatsApp. OGAD's agent runs on a computer: Mac (Apple silicon), Windows or Linux.
Muse also shops for you. Meta's launch post lists purchases among the actions Muse checks with you first. OGAD does not make purchases for you.
Meta also says it plans a Muse Confidential VM, encrypted with a key only you hold. If that ships, the cloud side gets stronger. Today, the agent, your files and your logins sit on a machine Meta runs.
If you want a free helper for errands and shopping, Muse is a fair choice. If you want your work context, meetings and mail on your own machine, with a log of every action you approved, run OGAD.
Switch in fifteen minutes
- Download OGAD for Mac, Windows or Linux.
- Get Pro and enter your key in the app.
- In Models, download a text model that can use tools. The app shows which fit your computer.
- Open Integrations and connect Gmail, Linear, Jira or Notion.
- Ask for one small action, such as a reply draft. Approve it in Actions and check the log.
