Where the two really differ
Inference has a cloud path in Screenpipe. Its data flow page is clear. Chat with local Ollama is "Local only." Chat with a cloud AI means "selected context is sent to that AI provider." That is fair and documented. It also means your privacy depends on the model you pick. In OGAD, the models that read your memory are ones you download and run on your computer.
The licence is different. Screenpipe's README permits personal, non-commercial use of the source. Commercial use requires a licence. OGAD is AGPL-3.0, free to use at work, with no account.
Capture is heavier in Screenpipe. Its pricing page lists about 30 GB of storage a month and 600 MB to 4 GB of RAM, depending on settings. OGAD saves sampled moments, not a continuous record.
