Simular's Sai is a computer-use agent. It clicks and types through browsers and desktop apps the way you do. Its site says it turns "a private cloud VM or your own device" into a machine that runs itself. You pay for the AI work in credits, from $50 a month.
Off Grid AI does computer and browser tasks with models on your own machine. There is no credit meter, it knows your day, and you pay once.

Checked 30 October 2026 against Sai's home page and pricing page. Off Grid AI's Pro price is a limited-time lifetime offer, down from $119.
What it costs over three years
Sai's pricing page lists four plans:
- Free. $0, with a daily credit allowance and limited access to a cloud Windows computer.
- Pay as you go. $50 a month for 50,000 credits, which covers $50 of AI models and computer time. On your own Mac or Windows, only AI usage counts.
- Sai Unlimited. $500 a month, with unlimited AI usage within fair-use rules and an always-on cloud computer.
- Enterprise. Custom price.
| 1 year | 3 years | |
|---|---|---|
| Sai Pay as you go | $600 | $1,800 |
| Sai Unlimited | $6,000 | $18,000 |
| Off Grid AI Pro, lifetime | $79.99 | $79.99 |
Pay as you go can cost more than $50 in a busy month, because you can top up credits. With local models, Off Grid AI has no usage bill. The model runs on hardware you already own.
How a task runs in Off Grid AI
Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro has two task routes.
- Computer Use works in the apps on your screen. You grant Accessibility and Screen Recording on a Mac, pick a local model, and describe the result you want. Read how to automate a Mac task with local AI.
- Web Use works in a browser. With the Off Grid AI extension, now in early access, it can use the browser you are already signed in to. Read how to automate tasks in your signed-in browser.
While a task runs, you can Pause, Stop or Take Over. You can type a correction with Guide this task. Tasks keeps each run, with its steps and screenshots, so you can check what happened.
With local models selected, the reasoning runs on your computer. The apps and websites you use still need their normal connection.
What runs without asking
Sai's site lists "approval-based control for important actions". You can approve critical steps from your phone. The same page also says "Sai does it every day, unattended". So some steps run on their own by design, and you decide which ones need you.
In OGAD, you start each Computer Use or Web Use task and you can watch it. Browser actions such as sending, creating or deleting an item can wait for your approval in OGAD. With Pro, Actions drafts mail, issues and docs through Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion, and each one waits for Approve, Edit or Reject.
It already knows your day
Sai keeps your setup, logins and preferences inside its VM.
Off Grid AI Pro knows your work. Your screens, meetings, mail and documents become one local memory on your disk. God, your chief of staff, uses it for a morning brief, meeting prep, routines and scheduled tasks, and the list of what people owe you. So a task can start from what you already did, not from a blank prompt.
When Sai is the better pick
Be fair to Sai. Its cloud VM keeps working when your laptop is closed, and you can run up to 5 cloud computers at once on Pay as you go. OGAD only works while your computer is on. Sai says repeated tasks get faster and cheaper over time. It also has team and enterprise plans with SSO and SLAs.
If you need many computers running the same job all night, Sai is built for that. If you want computer and browser tasks on your own models, next to a memory of your work and a fixed price, use Off Grid AI.
