Timing is one of the best time trackers on the Mac. Without Sync, its privacy policy says none of your recorded activity goes to Timing or anyone else. That is good. But the AI summaries are different. They run on Google's Vertex AI, and the policy says metadata such as "the window title of the apps you use" may be sent.
Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro writes its summaries of your day with a local model. The AI part stays on your computer too. It also runs on Windows and Linux, and you pay once.

How Reflect works
- Turn on capture in Replay with Resume capture. OGAD saves moments from your screen as you work, on your disk.
- A local model reads each moment and notes the app, the project and the people involved.
- Open Reflect. You see your day by project, app and person, plus your focus time.
- Switch to the week view to see where your time goes over several days.
You can exclude apps from capture, pause it, and delete any moment. On Windows and Linux you can run the analysis overnight, so your computer stays fast while you work.
More than a time tracker
The same day of work feeds the rest of Pro:
- Memory. Ask "what did I decide about the Acme pricing?" and get the answer with its source.
- Meetings. Calls recorded without a bot, transcribed and summarised on your computer.
- Actions you approve. Replies and issues through Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion, sent only with your yes.
- God, your chief of staff. A morning brief, meeting prep and what people owe you.
- Vault, Clipboard and Sync. Encrypted secrets, a searchable clipboard, and your phone and computer in sync.
One key covers up to 5 devices.
When Timing is the better pick
Timing is built for people who bill by the hour. It has customizable reports, report rounding, manual entries and a web app. Its Connect plan adds two-way sync with ClickUp, Linear and Clio, GrandTotal invoicing, scripting and team features. Off Grid AI has no billing tools.
If you are on a Mac and bill clients, Timing is the stronger tool, and you can leave its AI summaries off. If you want AI summaries that never leave your computer, or you work on Windows or Linux, use OGAD.

- Download OGAD for Mac, Windows or Linux.
- Get Pro and enter your key.
