Have you ever asked yourself, why are some people promoted more than others within the tech space? Why are some more hireable than others?
Enter, the A Player
So who is the A Player?
Simply put, the A player (although qualities do differ from person to person), are people that share some key common qualities:
- Analytical skills and intelligence – they solve complex problems
- High energy, proactivity and efficiency – they get the job done
- Need for achievement and persistence– they have a drive to succeed
- Self-awareness and integrity – they make teams work better
- Personal responsibility – they don’t make excuses
- Organisation and planning – they are strong at delivering strategy through action plans
No one is born an A Player, they become one by developing these qualities over time.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I've been in the tech space for 25 years. I thank the heavens daily that there is always something new to learn.
You've mentioned something important in your response though. Constructive criticism is paramount to growth. I think that may be the hardest thing to learn. Not to take it personally.
