I built a directory of 61 open-source AI dev tools, ranked by GitHub stars

I got tired of "awesome-ai-tools" lists that were either outdated, unranked, or buried promo content. So I built a simple directory of open-source AI dev tools — ranked by actual GitHub stars, not vibes.

61 tools across 15 categories:

  • AI Coding Agents (OpenHands, OpenInterpreter)
  • Browser Automation (browser-use, Skyvern)
  • RAG & Knowledge Base (RagFlow, AnythingLLM)
  • Multi-Agent Frameworks (AutoGen, CrewAI, LangGraph)
  • Image Generation (Stable Diffusion WebUI, ComfyUI)
  • MCP & Skills, LLM Runtime (Ollama, AutoGPT)
  • Vector DB, Document Processing (MarkItDown), TTS, and more

Each tool has its own page with stars, category, and related tools. Data pulled from GitHub API. There's also a search box to filter by name/description.

Open source: https://github.com/ardss/ai-dev-tools-directory

I'd love feedback:

  1. Is the categorization sensible?
  2. What tools am I missing?
  3. Would a "best X for Y" comparison view be more useful than a flat directory?

Be brutal — this is v1.
