Praise in Public, Correct in Private

Where you say it
matters as much as what you say.

Get the two backwards
and even good intentions wound.

Correct someone in front of the room
and they don't hear the lesson.
They hear the embarrassment,
and they'll protect themselves
long before they'll improve.

Praise someone in private
and half the value evaporates.
Recognition grows when others see it.

So flip it on purpose.

When they do something well,
say it out loud, where it counts.
When they get something wrong,
pull them aside and keep their dignity intact.

The goal was never to be right at them.
It was to help them get better
and still want to try.

Lift in public. Fix in private.
