The deadline where it can't be missed.
You are not writing to sound thorough.
You are writing to be understood
by a tired person, quickly.
Cut the throat-clearing.
Delete the "just wanted to reach out."
Shorter is kinder.
A clear, short message
isn't lazy or blunt.
It's a gift of someone's time.
Respect the reader's attention,
and they'll actually read you.
