CodeRef.xyz: A Developer's Workspace for Cheat Sheets, Tools, Design Systems, and More

As developers, we constantly switch between documentation, online tools, code references, design resources, and browser compatibility websites.

Sometimes we just need a quick reference. Other times, we need a tool to format JSON, test an API, work with regex, or explore a design system.

I wanted to bring these everyday developer resources together in one place.

That's why I'm building CodeRef.xyz — a developer-focused platform designed to make everyday development workflows faster and easier.

What's new in CodeRef?

CodeRef has grown beyond a simple collection of coding references. Here are some of the key features.

1. Developer Cheat Sheets and Quick References

Access useful developer references without searching across multiple websites.

  • Programming cheat sheets
  • Framework references
  • Quick syntax guides
  • Browser compatibility tables
  • Common development references

The goal is simple: find the information you need and get back to coding.

2. Developer Tools

CodeRef includes a collection of practical tools for everyday development tasks.

Some of the available tools include:

  • Markdown editor
  • Regex tester
  • JSON tools
  • API client
  • Color tools
  • Code editors
  • Git playground

These tools are designed to be accessible directly from your browser.

3. DESIGN.md Library

One of the latest additions is the DESIGN.md Library.

Design systems are important when building modern web applications, especially when working with AI coding assistants.

The library lets you:

  • Browse design system resources
  • Search for design styles
  • Copy DESIGN.md content
  • Download individual DESIGN.md files
  • Explore different design approaches

The idea is to make reusable design guidelines easier to discover and use.

4. Light and Dark Theme Previews

Choosing a design system is easier when you can actually see it.

CodeRef provides design system previews in both light and dark themes.

You can explore:

  • Color palettes
  • Typography
  • Spacing
  • Visual styles
  • Light and dark theme variations

This makes it easier to evaluate a design before using it in your project.

5. AI-Friendly DESIGN.md

DESIGN.md is especially useful when working with AI coding tools.

You can take a design system's Markdown instructions and provide them to an AI coding assistant so it can follow the intended visual direction while generating your application.

Instead of repeatedly explaining colors, typography, spacing, and UI preferences, you can give your AI tool a reusable design reference.

What's the pricing?

CodeRef follows a simple approach:

Free Plan

Access developer references, cheat sheets, browser compatibility tables, developer tools, and the DESIGN.md library.

The goal is to keep essential developer resources accessible to everyone.

Who is CodeRef for?

  • Frontend developers
  • Backend developers
  • Full-stack developers
  • UI/UX designers
  • Indie hackers
  • Startup founders
  • Developers building applications with AI coding assistants

Whether you're learning a new framework, testing an API, or choosing a design system, CodeRef aims to be a useful part of your development workflow.

What's next?

I'm continuing to improve CodeRef and working on making it a more useful destination for developers.

I'd love to hear from the developer community:

  • What developer tools would you like to see added?
  • What kind of design systems should be included in the DESIGN.md library?
  • What features would make CodeRef more useful in your daily workflow?

Your feedback will help shape what comes next.
