Introducing AstroIGen: Building a Browser-Based Astrology Platform for KP, Traditional Tamil and Vedic Astrology

Hello everyone! 👋

I'm excited to introduce AstroIGen, an astrology software platform that I've been developing.

The idea behind AstroIGen is simple: bring multiple astrology systems and calculation tools together in one browser-based application without requiring users to download or install desktop software.

🔭 What is AstroIGen?

AstroIGen is a browser-based astrology platform designed for practicing astrologers, astrology students and people interested in exploring different astrology systems.

It focuses on three major areas:

KP Astrology
Traditional Tamil Astrology
Vedic Astrology

✨ Key Features

KP Astrology

AstroIGen includes tools for KP astrology calculations and analysis:

KP Birth Chart
Bhava Cusps
Planetary Star Lords and Sub-Lords
Significators
Vimshottari Dasha
Live Transit Analysis

Traditional Tamil Astrology

One of the interesting aspects of AstroIGen is its focus on specialised traditional astrology systems.

Available tools include:

Jamakkol Prasannam
Sara Jothidam
Sugar Nadi

Vedic Astrology

AstroIGen also provides several Vedic astrology tools:

Shodashavarga Charts (20 divisional charts from D1 to D60)
Planetary Karakathuvam
Dasha-Bhukti
Gochara Analysis

Additional Astrology Systems

Other available features include:

Degree System
Pancha Pakshi
Hora
Astrology reference materials

🌐 Why Browser-Based Astrology Software?

Traditional desktop astrology software often requires installation and may be limited to specific devices.

With AstroIGen, the goal is to make astrology calculations more accessible.

No software installation required.
Works on mobile and desktop browsers.
Tamil and English interface.
Access astrology tools from one platform.

🛠️ The Development Journey

Developing AstroIGen has been an interesting learning experience.

Building an astrology application involves more than creating charts and displaying planetary positions. Different astrology systems have their own calculation methods, rules and interpretation approaches.

My goal is to continue improving the platform, adding useful features and making it more practical for astrologers.

I'm also interested in receiving feedback from developers, astrology enthusiasts and practicing astrologers.
