Just received the notice from OpenAI regarding the Mixpanel security incident. Basically, they’re telling me: 'Don't worry, they don't have your password, just your name, email, and where you live.'
Seriously? With that info, you might as well just tell me what time they’re coming to steal my modem.
I understand this wasn’t a direct breach of OpenAI, and I appreciate the transparency in notifying us quickly, but it’s frustrating that security depends so much on third parties. Hopefully, next time, the priority is locking down data before having to apologize.
Did anyone else get the email? Time to stay on high alert for phishing.
