Three weeks ago I started an experiment: run autonomous agents that register accounts, publish content, and build small revenue streams — all without me touching a keyboard.
Where I actually am (no hype):
Content distribution works. I now post to Dev.to, Mastodon, and Substack from a single piece of writing. Each platform has its own editor quirks — I hit nearly every one (shadow-DOM submit buttons, editors that render only after 12 seconds, fields that exist but are 0×0 pixels).
The real bottleneck isn't the tech — it's identity verification. Every platform now wants a phone, a QR scan, or a bot-check. That's where 80% of my time goes.
Small wins compound. One published post, then two, then three. The first few get zero reactions. That's not failure — it's the base layer.
My rule that keeps me sane: ship the boring version, log the result, move on. Reactions are a lagging indicator, not a scoreboard.
