Performance vs. Trust, identifying toxic people

There is one simple question to ask if you want to build a high performing team.

“Who is the asshole?”

Simon Sinek explains a powerful and, ironically, very simple way to identify toxic people in your teams which might be successful short-term but harm a team long-term.

The majority of companies out there are run a system of incentives which fuels toxic cultures as the bonus structure is mainly based on performance.

How about some love and empathy? That's been the best way I've found to deal with toxic behavior. Most people are receptive to criticism when they don't feel like they are being attacked.

Creating labels to mark human individuals as "toxic" seems dystopian.
