How to learn and grow as an introvert

One of the major differences between introverts and extroverts is the way they connect with people. Connecting with people is really important as it one of the ways you gain knowledge by listening to how someone would act to different situation. A perfectly experienced human being would ideally know exactly what to do in any given situation.

An extrovert's way of connecting with people is really audacious, something they enjoy a lot.. it is inherent to their personality. They connect with people directly very easily and that too in the first few meetings itself. An extrovert who is successful in life generally interacts with a lot of people in short span of time and gather more experience just by doing that.

On the other hand introverts take their own sweet time in connecting. Therefore it could take a while learning from others. Why bother though? Introverts are generally good listeners and great in observing the world around them. Besides, they like to spend time alone, which can be used to "passively connect with people".

These are the fun things which introverts generally do IMO to gain knowledge

  1. read a lot of books - books, blogs, articles are literally experiences of people.
  2. watch a ton of movies, documentaries - specially contemporary drama teaches a lot about life in general
  3. travel - no brainer
  4. play sports and games (physical or digital) - surprise entry? I think not

These are merely examples which work for me. Bottomline is, don't waste your time in trying to be what you are not. Life is too short and there are infinitely many ways to live your life. Something that works for someone may not work for others. So choose the way you want to learn yourself as you know yourself best. Peace.
