Week 33: Building With What We Have, Learning From Our Users

Another week of building BAINT AI Classroom Assistant

This week, we continued talking to students, collecting feedback and improving the product.

We're learning that building an educational tool is not only about making features work.

It's also about understanding what students struggle with and what teachers expect from a tool they might use with their students.

Four pieces of demo feedback
This week, we received four pieces of feedback on the BAINT demo.

Every piece of feedback gives us something to examine. Some things work as expected, while others show us where we need to improve.

We're paying attention to how students interact with the product, where explanations fall short and what could make the learning experience better.

We don't want to build based only on what we think students need. We want their experiences to influence how BAINT develops.

Continuing the mathematics rollout
We're continuing to improve the mathematics engine and have started getting feedback from a teacher.

One of the early observations showed that BAINT could respond to a mathematics question but failed to provide the actual working needed to solve a more complex equation.

That feedback matters.
Giving a general explanation of how to approach a problem is not the same as solving it and showing each step.

We need to keep improving the engine so students can follow the reasoning behind a solution.

We still have work to do, but this is exactly why we want teachers and students to use the product while we're developing it.

Their feedback helps us identify problems that we might not discover through our own testing.

Still looking for hardware support
We've also reached out to around 120 people to seek hardware support for our work.

We're still waiting for help.
Having better hardware would make development easier, but we aren't putting everything on hold while we wait.

We'll continue building with what we have, improving the demo and learning from the people willing to try it.

We know there are limitations to what we can do with our current resources. We're working within those limitations while continuing to look for support that could help us move further.

What comes next for BAINT
Our focus remains on improving the product through real feedback.

We want to strengthen the mathematics engine, continue listening to students and teachers, and understand how BAINT can better support different ways of learning.

We also know that one successful response doesn't mean the entire system is ready.

We need to test different questions, identify weaknesses and improve the underlying system instead of relying on isolated fixes.

There is still a lot to do.
But we're learning, testing and making progress with the resources available to us.

We're not waiting for everything to be perfect before we keep building. We're building, learning from the process and improving as we go.
