There are two types of Push notifications: Web Push Notifications and Mobile App Push Notifications.

Thanks Betty for sharing such an informative post. Before read this post, I was thinking that push notifications could only be sent through emails but now, I am more clear because it could appear in the form of a popup message while using the app or browsing the website. Also, it could also be received through SMS.

However, I am still trying to expand my knowledge about push notifications and reading articles like this blog.back4app.com/what-are-push-no.... Withal, I think push notifications depend on the approval of user in many cases. I noticed many sites ask for notification approval. In case, you don't enable push notifications, you don't receive them.

Great thing about asking for permission from your customers is you can track when they unsubscribe from the notifications, this can be an early sign for churn. So you can put out fires faster this way
