[VITI Labs Field Report] The Telepathy API: Why "IT doesn't understand the business" is the laziest lie in corporate history

In every large enterprise, there comes a moment during a quarterly Town Hall meeting when a business executive stands in front of a slide labeled “Business-IT Alignment”, sighs heavily, and delivers the immortal line:

"The problem is that IT just doesn't understand our business."

This is an interesting claim. Let's translate it into the deterministic language of VITI Science.

When business leaders say IT doesn't understand them, what they actually mean is this: "We want IT to perfectly prioritize our critical systems, but we absolutely refuse to quantify what actually matters."

When an IT architect reaches out and says: "Great, we want to align with you. Please provide your updated Business Impact Analysis (BIA) detailing the quantified financial impacts, RTO limits, and deterministic continuity thresholds," what happens?

Absolute silence.

Or worse: two weeks later, IT receives the legendary Risk_Matrix_vFINAL(2).xlsx. Inside, every single one of the 150 enterprise systems is marked as "Priority 1," and the Recovery Time Objective is listed as "ASAP".

This is exactly like walking into a restaurant, refusing to look at the menu, screaming "BRING ME SOMETHING IMPORTANT!" at the waiter, and then tearing the chef apart because they brought you the wrong dish.

The Business Doesn't Want Architecture. They Want Telepathy.

Business units expect software engineers to read their auras during sprint planning. They expect developers to mystically sense whether the new marketing landing page is currently more important than the payroll database. And when IT inevitably makes the "wrong" choice—because telepathy has not been invented yet—the business gets a convenient excuse to play the victim again.

How does Erkki Laine’s Business Impact Governance Framework (BIGF) solve this?

With cold, mathematical ruthlessness.

There is no Telepathy API in the Physics Engine

In BIGF, deployment authority is granted by a fixed-point arithmetic physics engine: Authority = f(B, S, T).

If the business refuses to define the $B$ variable (Business Impact Anchor) as hard, verifiable numerical data, the physics engine does not try to guess. It does not listen to shouting, it does not parse red stoplight emojis, and it certainly does not feel empathy.

It simply interprets the B value as undefined (Zero).

And as anyone who has passed elementary school math knows: when you multiply any equation by zero, the result is zero.

The next time a business stakeholder complains that IT doesn't understand their needs, the correct response is no longer an apology.

The correct response is: "We understand you perfectly. Your B-vector is zero. In the eyes of the physics engine and the runtime code, you are mathematically irrelevant until you provide deterministic proof of your existence. 403 Hard Halt."

Stop demanding telepathy. Just do the BIA.
