I built a minimalist search router to search Reddit, HN, and Stack Exchange without AI blog spam
Lately, searching on Google for honest product reviews, tech recommendations, or coding solutions has become exhausting. Every query is buried under AI-generated SEO articles, sponsored affiliate roundups, and cluttered video widgets.
Instead of manually typing site:reddit.com or site:news.ycombinator.com every single time, I got frustrated and built a clean, lightweight tool to fix this: BoardScout (https://boardscout.app).
What is BoardScout?
BoardScout is a 100 percent client-side, privacy-first search router hosted on Cloudflare. It is designed to strip away all the modern search bloat and connect you directly with real human discussions.
Key Features:
- Pure Web Mode: Automatically routes your searches through Google's clean web-only index to strip away AI Overviews, shopping carousels, and unrequested third-party clutter.
- Multi-Board Precision: Toggle and search across Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, and Quora simultaneously in one click.
- Timeframe Filters: Instantly filter discussions by the past month or past year to get fresh product reviews and up-to-date tech advice.
- 100 percent Private and Local: Zero tracking, zero accounts, and zero server logs. Your board preferences are saved locally in your browser using local storage. Plus, it supports native OpenSearch so you can add it as a custom browser address bar shortcut.
Tech Stack and Hosting:
- Frontend: Vanilla HTML, Tailwind CSS, and lightweight JavaScript.
- Hosting and Performance: Hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Because it's entirely static and sits on Cloudflare's edge network, it loads instantly anywhere in the world with unlimited bandwidth and zero server costs.

I would love to hear your feedback, feature ideas, or thoughts on how to make it even more useful for developers and power users!
