It's 11pm. You're tired. You close your eyes, and your brain decides it's the perfect time to replay every embarrassing thing you've done since 2009.
We kept having that problem, so we built Bubbly Thoughts.
What it does
You open the app and talk. Out loud, like you'd vent to a friend. No typing, no blank page, no "dear diary". Bubbly Thoughts listens and turns the rambling into a clean journal entry you can read back in the morning.
Why voice instead of typing
Typing at midnight is work. Your thumb is tired, the screen is bright, and halfway through the first sentence you've forgotten what you were anxious about. Talking is how thoughts actually come out - messy, fast, unfiltered. We wanted the journal to catch that.
What we learned building it
- People don't want to "write a journal entry". They want to get something out of their head.
- Transcription is the easy part. Making the output feel like your words is the hard part.
- The fewer buttons on screen at 11pm, the better.

Bubbly Thoughts is free on the App Store: Bubbly Thoughts on the App Store
We also make a little cartoon about what your brain does at night. Episode 1 is here: bubbly-thoughts.pages.dev
Happy to answer questions in the comments. Sleep well.

a cartoon about what your brain does at night fits a journaling app way better than a feature list, and it's the kind of thing people actually send to a friend at midnight
