Day 20 of my 60-Day Game Dev On Android Challenge🎮📱
Today I was learning gravity in Pygame, and it was challenging… the player kept falling through the floor, jumping too high, or even bouncing 😅.
I spent a few hours debugging and realized tiny adjustments make a huge difference.
Anyone else struggle with making jumps feel natural? How did you solve it?
See you in Day 21! 🚀

That’s a very common challenge, so you’re definitely not alone. Getting jumps to feel right usually comes down to tuning gravity, velocity, and collision response in small increments, and often clamping fall speed helps a lot. Iterating with quick tests, just like you’re doing, is the best way to dial in natural movement.
