🎯 Why I Built This
When someone goes through life-changing experiences and starts their healing journey, it's incredibly hard to find like-minded people who understand that path. The dating app space is dominated by superficial swiping, but I wanted to create a space where:
- Your healing journey and spiritual practices actually matter
- You can connect with others on similar paths of self-growth
- You find people who understand what it means to live consciously
- Personal growth, healing, and dating aren't separate - they happen together
The Sanctuary brings the conscious community together, whether you're looking for a partner who gets your journey, meditation buddies, or just want to attend a sound bath with like-minded souls.
🛠️ Tech Stack
- Frontend: React Native with Expo Router
- Backend: Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage, Functions)
- Auth: Phone verification, Google SSO, Apple Sign-In
- Payments: Stripe integration (not using app store payments)
- State Management: React Context API
- Library: react-native-firebase for all Firebase operations
