If you've played TBH: Task Bar Hero for more than 20 minutes, you've hit this problem: you have two chest pieces in your inventory, one has higher level requirement, the other has better stats — which one actually gives you more DPS?
The in-game tooltips don't tell you. So I built a calculator.
It's a free web tool that lets you mix and match any gear combination from the TBH item database, then calculates your real DPS output instantly.
What It Does
- 1,375 items in the database — weapons, shields, armor, helmets, accessories
- Real-time DPS simulation using the actual game damage formula
- Side-by-side comparison — equip one setup as "Snapshot A", swap gear, see the exact DPS difference (green ⬆ / red ⬇)
- Share builds via URL — send your setup to friends on Discord or Reddit
- Best-in-slot finder — filter by level and slot to find optimal gear
The Damage Formula
After digging through community data and testing, here's the formula the calculator uses:
DPS = Attack Speed × Base Damage × (1 + Crit Chance × (Crit Multiplier − 1))
With stat modifiers:
- Each point of Strength adds ~0.5% base damage
- Each point of Intelligence adds ~0.2% attack speed
- Crit Chance and Crit Damage multiply your expected damage
The calculator accounts for all of this automatically — pick your gear, set your level, hit Calculate.
Why I Built It
I got tired of doing napkin math every time I found a new item. The TBH community has done amazing work documenting items and builds (shoutout to probonk and the wiki contributors), but there wasn't a quick way to compare two pieces of gear side-by-side.
This tool fills that gap. It's not a wiki, not a tier list — it's a pure numbers tool for min-maxing your build.
What's Next
- More item data (community submissions welcome)
- Rune and skill DPS integration
- Mobile layout improvements
