Why I Built Effera: A Watermark-Free Android Video Editor with Live Touch Motion

Whenever I edited short videos on my phone, two things always frustrated me:

  1. Tedious frame-by-frame keyframing: Just to make a caption, sticker, or blur box follow a moving subject, most mobile editors force you to pause, add a keyframe (◆), move the object slightly, advance a few frames, and repeat 30 times.
  2. Surprise export paywalls and forced watermarks: You spend 20 minutes editing a clip with auto-captions or noise reduction, tap Export, and get hit with a subscription paywall—or a corner watermark and a forced outro logo tacked onto the end of your video.

I wanted a phone editor with zero watermarks, no surprise export paywalls, and direct touch motion. That became Effera, now available free on Google Play.

1. 100% Watermark-Free & No Export Paywalls

Videos exported with Effera never have a corner watermark or an auto-appended outro logo. And you will never finish an edit only to be blocked at export because you used AI subtitles, speaker separation, background noise reduction, person cutout, or tracking mosaic.

2. Direct Touch Motion (No Keyframes Needed)

Effera separates editing into two natural gestures:

  • Drag while the video is playing -> Your finger's path is recorded live as smooth, time-based motion.
  • Drag while paused -> Adjusts the position on that single frame only.

Whether you are pinning a caption above a moving pet, sliding a sticker across the screen, or tracking a mosaic over a moving face or license plate, you do it in one pass. If the action is fast, you can slow playback down to 0.1x and trace comfortably.

You can also draw glowing beams, sparks, and lightning directly onto the video with finger tracing, or build multi-part composite effects in an FX Project.

3. On-Device AI Included Free

All AI tools run on your device with no account sign-up required:

  • AI Speech-to-Subtitles & Speaker Separation: Transcribe spoken audio into editable timeline captions and organize lines by speaker.
