Hi everyone — I’m Xena, a developer building a suite of small Windows desktop apps designed to support trans folks through their HRT journey. This project started as a personal tool, but it’s grown into something I want to share, refine, and eventually release for free to anyone who needs it.
Right now, the workspace contains four apps in active development:
Journey Journal — a simple, private journaling tool
TrackMyHRT — the core HRT tracking app
Resource Manager — a searchable list of helpful links
Launcher — a small app picker tying everything together
Each app is built with PySide6, packaged with PyInstaller, and developed independently so I can iterate quickly and merge features later.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I’m at the stage where outside eyes, ideas, and technical feedback would make a huge difference. I’m building this for the community, and I want the community — especially other trans devs — to help shape it.
I’m looking for:
🧪 Feedback on UX, UI, and accessibility
What feels intuitive
What feels confusing
What features would make the biggest difference
🧰 Code review & architecture suggestions
PySide6 best practices
Packaging improvements
Modular design patterns
Anything that helps me build a stable foundation
🎨 Design help
Iconography (pastel, timeline, trans‑flag‑friendly aesthetics)
Layout ideas
Visual consistency across apps
📚 Feature suggestions
Especially from people who:
Are on HRT
Track symptoms or mood
Use journaling apps
Want privacy‑first tools
Your lived experience matters more than any spec sheet.
What This Project Is (and Isn’t)
✔️ It is
A modular workspace for experimenting and refining features
A place where each app evolves independently
A long‑term project aimed at becoming a polished, unified tool
A community‑driven effort to support trans folks with free software
❌ It’s not yet
A finished product
A stable architecture
Fully optimized or refactored
Ready for release
This is early‑stage, iterative development — and that’s exactly why your input matters.
A Personal Note
As a trans woman, this project means a lot to me. I want to build something that’s private, accessible, and genuinely supportive — something I wish I had when I started HRT.
If you’re a developer, designer, tester, or just someone who cares about this kind of tool, I’d love your help. Even a single suggestion can shape the direction of the final app.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for being here.If you want to take a look, contribute, or chat about ideas, I’m all ears.
