Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve spent years trying to learn new frameworks, and I always hit the same wall: The "Setup" Barrier. You find a cool tutorial, but then you spend 2 hours trying to configure your local environment, Node versions, or terminal settings before you even write a single line of code. By the time it's ready, the motivation is gone.
I wanted to fix that, so I built Codenhack.
What is Codenhack?
It’s a 100% free, in-browser coding platform designed to move you from "reading" to "doing" instantly. No installations, no npm install nightmares, just code.
The Features:
Integrated Terminal & Editor: Write real code in a real environment right in your tab.
Live Previews: Building a UI? See your changes happen the moment you type.
Gamified Learning: I added XP, Badges, and a Global Leaderboard. Learning is hard, so I wanted to make it feel like a game.
Reflection Quizzes: After every "hack," there's a quick check to make sure you actually understood the why behind the code.
Why I made it free
I’m an indie developer, and I believe the best way to grow the dev community is to lower the barrier to entry. Codenhack is my contribution to making coding education more accessible and less boring.
I need your feedback!
I’m still in the early stages, and I’d love for the Dev.to community to break it.
Does the terminal feel responsive?
Are the lessons too easy or too hard?
What language should I add next?
