I ran a deep research run on FDE, Forward Deployed Engineer. A clever-sounding term.
And I only understood it after NotebookLM made me a podcast about what an FDE actually is.
By the way, it genuinely helps that the AI makes podcasts for me. If anyone wants the skill, write to me. I will hand over the skill for teaching your Codex to make you podcasts on NotebookLM.
So, an FDE is an engineer who works in the field. Something like a salesperson who can also code, run negotiations and drink with clients. And, apparently, hand out bribes, buy people off and so on
In general, maybe I will register as a Forward Deployed Engineer too, so I can travel on business trips properly.
Although what do I do about my broken English? Then again, maybe it is not all that broken.
Yes, I now want to put all my NotebookLM material into some kind of open access, so that everyone can take it and read it, because there is genuinely a lot of value in it
I do not know, of course, colleagues, my friends, if anyone is reading me: I would welcome objective criticism. I am looking for work after all, and your specific advice on the job hunt and on learning how all this works would come in very handy.
