A recall first, then an additional deep research on products for the "second brain", the "second memory", agent memory.
Anton wants to find and compare products like: a second brain or second memory for individuals; shared memory between agents; corporate knowledge bases that unite the knowledge of every employee; a "second brain" for a company; individual employee memory that can merge with corporate memory; SaaS and open-source tiers; products similar to Mem0. And Zep.ai must be in the comparison. He wants to understand who is building second brains now, how an employee's second brain merges with the company's, which solutions exist for corporations and for individuals, how products are alike and how they differ, how agent memory is structured, and how Zep.ai differs from the alternatives. And on Zep.ai specifically: pull up any podcasts already made, if transcripts exist, and extract the knowledge from them to describe more precisely what it does.
First: the recall he asks for as step one finds finished work rather than a mention. A radar of memory and PKM products sits in the vault, dated 28 July, holding 24 artefacts. They are exactly the products in his brief, with star counts we measured rather than quoted: mem0ai/mem0 61,881, "a universal memory layer for agents"; topoteretes/cognee 29,484, an open-source memory platform with a graph and an ingest pipeline; getzep/graphiti 29,265, a temporal knowledge graph for agents; supermemoryai/supermemory 28,659, a memory engine pushed daily; letta-ai/letta 23,992, the stateful-agent platform formerly known as MemGPT.
⭐ Second: getzep/graphiti is Zep.ai. The GitHub organisation is literally getzep, and Graphiti is the open temporal-graph engine their product stands on. So the item he marks as mandatory is already in our radar under its engineering name, and the radar had already noted what it is good at.
⭐⭐ Third, and this is more than reading: we have two comments in Zep's repository, on issues #1645 and #1381, one of them described in our own notes as "our threshold measurement plus the counterexample that killed it". The company he wants compared is one we have already talked to in public, in their own tracker.
⚠️ Fourth, and this is the honest gap: the radar's axes are not the ones he needs now. The July radar compares these products by contribution doors: whether an outside PR has a chance, how old the open queue is, how many authors reach a merge. Mem0 is red because "there are no doors on our topic", Letta red for a queue with a median age of 198 days. Those are the axes of someone looking for a way in, not of someone choosing or positioning a product. His brief asks about SaaS against open source, corporations against individuals, and how an employee's memory merges with the company's, and the radar answers none of it. So the recall hands him the player list and the measured sizes for free, and the research he is ordering has a narrower job than it looks: take the known 24 and grade them on product axes.
⚠️ Fifth: the podcasts he asks to pull up do not exist. The teaching-podcast queue holds 49 episodes, 37 done, 12 waiting, none failed, account rotation alive. Not one episode is about Zep, Mem0 or agent memory: the subject was never queued. ⭐ The fix is cheap and uses the same machine: the radar note plus the two threads in their tracker are enough for one episode, and then the next time this question comes round the answer exists in audio.
⭐ Sixth, what his own list leaves out: us. The second brain in this brief is a product we have already built and published. The public kit holds 235 skills, 14 stars and 5 forks, and underneath it is a working personal memory with retrieval over a vault of a quarter of a million files. On his own axis, individual memory merging into something larger, we are a row in that table rather than only its reader.
⭐ And one of these products has already changed our code. The research register records bitemporal columns taken from Graphiti into our SQLite, next to FTS5 and RRF, BGE-M3 with a reranker, sqlite-vec and personalised PageRank from HippoRAG, and notes that it "influenced the code the same day", along with adopting the term "second memory" itself. So the central architectural idea he wants compared is one we have already borrowed from Zep, by name, in our storage layer.
⚠️ Two notes for the record. The brief spells the product two ways, ZEB.AI in the list and Zep.ai twice in the body; the live product is Zep, with Graphiti as its open engine. And the counts above were taken on 28 July, 101 days ago; they have already moved once, since an earlier report said mem0 had "about 48k" and the measurement found 61,881. So the comparison starts with a re-measure, not with a quote.
