I Built Revora: An Open-Source Repository-Aware AI Code Review Platform for GitHub

I Built Revora – An Open-Source Repository-Aware AI Code Review Platform for GitHub

Most AI code review tools analyze only the changed files in a pull request. While that works for simple changes, it often misses the bigger picture.

When experienced developers review code, they don't just look at the diff—they consider the repository structure, architecture, dependencies, coding conventions, configuration files, and how the changes fit into the entire project.

That idea became the foundation of Revora.

🚀 What is Revora?

Revora is an open-source, repository-aware AI code review platform built for GitHub.

Instead of reviewing isolated code snippets, Revora builds repository context before generating AI feedback, helping produce more accurate, consistent, and meaningful reviews.

✨ Features

  • GitHub App integration
  • Repository Intelligence
  • Context Retrieval
  • Prompt Builder
  • Multi-LLM Orchestrator
  • Verification Engine
  • Bring Your Own API Key (BYOK)
  • Self-host with Docker
  • GitHub-native review workflow
  • Repository-aware AI reviews

🤖 Multi-Provider AI Support

One of Revora's goals is to remain provider-agnostic, allowing developers to choose the AI models that best fit their workflow.

Currently Available

  • ✅ NVIDIA NIM
  • ✅ Google Gemini

Coming Next

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic
  • DeepSeek
  • OpenRouter
  • Ollama

The architecture is designed so adding new providers is straightforward without changing the overall review workflow.

🔄 Review Pipeline

Every review follows a structured pipeline:

GitHub Pull Request
↓
Repository Intelligence
↓
Context Retrieval
↓
Prompt Builder
↓
LLM Orchestrator
↓
Verification Engine
↓
GitHub Review

Rather than reviewing only the changed files, Revora understands the repository before generating suggestions.

🛠 Tech Stack

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • PostgreSQL
  • Docker
  • GitHub Apps
  • SQLAlchemy
  • Multi-LLM Architecture

🎯 Why I Built Revora

I wanted to explore GitHub Apps, AI workflows, context engineering, and scalable backend architecture while building something genuinely useful for developers.

Revora has become much more than a learning project—it's an ongoing effort to build an AI-powered code review platform that understands repositories instead of just code diffs.

🔭 What's Next?

I'm actively working on:

  • Additional AI providers
  • Improved Repository Intelligence
  • Faster review pipeline
  • Better verification
  • Richer review experience
  • Enhanced developer workflow

💬 I'd Love Your Feedback

Revora is under active development, and feedback from the developer community is incredibly valuable.
