When you only start your way to becoming professional programmer or tester you might not know which operating system you should use.
Would it make sense to "follow the mob" and use Apple laptops, as other "cool developers" do?
Or perhaps you should do it hard way and try Linux instead?
Or maybe Windows isn't that bad after all?

Windows share on desktop computers is only 75% nowadays?
I am old enough to have lived am eternity where the answer was "almost all of it". Mac was an undangerous niche and the "year of desktop Linux" never came.
That's the current situation with the market
Windows is still by far the most popular.
I don't doubt that, just that when I was young it was more like 96% :)
