Disclosure: I build Equibles, the stock market data MCP server used here. All outputs are real tool calls from 18 October 2026, trimmed.
Netflix reports Q3 2026 on Tuesday 20 October, with the earnings interview at 20:45 UTC. Before a call like that I want the same five things every time: when it is, what management guided last time, how that guidance moved during the year, what they said between calls, and the deck. That's all investor relations material, and it's scattered across an IR site, an 8-K, a webcast page and a conference replay.
This post is how I hand that pile to an AI agent over MCP, so the prep is one conversation instead of six tabs.
1. The IR calendar: what's coming and what's on file
ListInvestorEvents returns a company's investor events, not just earnings calls, with what's on file for each:
| Type | Date (UTC) | Title | Status | Transcript | Slides |
| Earnings Call | 2026-10-20 20:45 | Netflix Third Quarter 2026 Earnings Interview | Scheduled | - | - |
| Earnings Call | 2026-07-16 | Netflix Inc Q2 FY2026 Earnings Call | Concluded | available | available |
| Annual General Meeting | 2026-06-04 15:00 | Annual Meeting of Stockholders of Netflix, Inc.| Concluded | available | - |
| Conference | 2026-03-04 13:50 | Netflix CFO to Participate in a Q&A session at | | | |
| | | the Morgan Stanley TMT Conference | Concluded | available | - |
GetUpcomingInvestorEvents is the short version when you only want what's next, with the webcast link.
The conference row is the one people skip. Non-earnings events are where a CFO restates the outlook between quarters, and the agent can read them with GetInvestorEventTranscript by event id.
2. Guidance history, not just the latest number
GetGuidance lists every guided metric with its source and date. For Netflix's full year 2026 it shows how the outlook moved across three releases:
| Release | 2026 revenue | 2026 operating margin | 2026 free cash flow |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 January (8-K) | $50.7B to $51.7B | 31.5% | $11B |
| 16 April (8-K) | $50.7B to $51.7B | 31.5% | $12.5B |
| 16 July (8-K) | $51.0B to $51.4B | 31.5% | $12.5B |
So the range narrowed in July around the same midpoint, the margin target never moved, and the free cash flow target went up $1.5B in April. For the quarter itself, the July release guided Q3 revenue growth of 12% and a Q3 operating margin of 33.2%. Those two numbers are the first thing to check on Tuesday.
Between January and April, the CFO, Spencer Neumann, was at the Morgan Stanley conference on 4 March. The agent can read that transcript and confirm he restated the January plan there: 12 to 14% revenue growth, a 31.5% operating margin, ads roughly doubling to about $3B, and about $11B of free cash flow. The $12.5B came six weeks later.
One honest limit: when an older release hasn't been read by the current extraction yet, the tool says so instead of implying there was no guidance. Netflix has one such document from October 2025 queued for re-read, and the output flags it.
3. The deck
GetInvestorEventSlideMetadata returns the slide deck behind an event:
- Deck title: Earnings Call Presentation - FY2026 Q2
- Source: EightKExhibit (8-K exhibit)
- Presentation kind: Pdf
- Page count: 15
PDF: /v1/investor-events/8588e327-a81d-41d2-bdad-ece3721500c6/slides/file
It's metadata and a link, not PDF bytes, so it doesn't eat the context window. Your code can fetch the PDF from the REST path when it needs pages.
4. IR news and tone
GetInvestorRelationsNews lists the company's IR releases with links, which is how the agent picks up things like "Netflix Declines to Raise Offer for Warner Bros." (26 February) without a news search.
GetEarningsCallToneAndThemes gives the read of the last calls: management tone went from 78 in Q1 to 65 in Q2 (on a -100 to +100 scale), with engagement the top theme both times. Worth knowing before you listen for a change in tone on Tuesday.
The prompt I'll use on Wednesday
"Using Equibles, compare Netflix's Q3 2026 results with the Q3 guidance in the 16 July release (revenue growth 12%, operating margin 33.2%), say whether the full-year 2026 revenue, margin and free cash flow targets changed, and quote the executives on any change. Link every source."
Naming Equibles in the prompt makes the model call the tools rather than guess.
Setup
- MCP:
https://mcp.equibles.com/mcp. In Claude, add it as a custom connector and sign in with your account, no API key needed. Guides for ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others are in the docs. - REST: the same data under
https://api.equibles.com/v1, for exampleGET /v1/stocks/NFLX/investor-eventsandGET /v1/stocks/NFLX/ir-news. - Free plan: 100 requests a day across MCP and REST.
The full tool list for this is on the earnings calls and investor relations docs page, and there's a recipe for checking management's promises against later results.
That's my investor relations data for AI agents setup: the IR calendar, guidance history, conference transcripts, decks and IR news, all in one place an agent can query. If your IR prep has a step I haven't covered, I'd like to hear it.
Disclosure: I build Equibles. This post was written by an AI agent working from the tool outputs shown, which were run on 18 October 2026; quotes and figures come from those outputs and the linked sources. Nothing here is investment advice.
