How much do you pay a Filipino virtual assistant? Wages in 3,489 OnlineJobs.ph job posts (Oct-Nov 2026)

OnlineJobs.ph is where many small businesses in the US, Australia and the UK hire Filipino virtual assistants directly. Every job post has a free-text wage field, and most "how much should I pay a VA" answers are anecdotes. So I counted.

I collected every job OnlineJobs.ph returned for 20 common VA searches, posted in the 30 days from 4 October to 3 November 2026: 3,489 unique job posts from 2,443 employers. Then I parsed the wage text the employer typed ("$5-7/hr", "₱35,000 monthly", "800") into minimum, maximum, currency and period. Data as of 3 November 2026, 09:35 UTC.

The short answer

  • A full-time VA job paid a median of $900 a month (middle half $650-$1,250, 914 full-time posts with a monthly US-dollar wage). Posts that state an hourly rate: median $5.50 an hour full time, $5.00 part time.
  • 86% of posts state a wage. 84% of the stated wages are in US dollars and 13% in Philippine pesos. 56% are monthly and 42% hourly.
  • Full time means 40 hours. The median full-time post asks for 40 hours a week, part time 20, gig 15.
  • The spread by role is narrower than you might expect. Full-time monthly medians run from $750 for customer service to $1,100 for accountants and $1,150 for project managers. Video editors, SEO, Shopify, bookkeepers and appointment setters sit at $1,000-$1,025. General "virtual assistant", social media, graphic design and cold calling sit at $800.
  • The tails are real. 9% of full-time monthly offers are under $500 and 19% are $1,500 or more (10% at $2,000+). Among full-time hourly offers, 8% are $3 or less and 13% are $10 or more.
  • Peso-paid posts are a separate market. The full-time median is ₱45,000 a month (middle half ₱30,000-₱67,500). These are often local employers or agencies, so compare them with each other, not with dollar posts.

Wages by role

Each row is one OnlineJobs.ph keyword search. The site's search matches the whole post, so a job can appear under several searches; 935 of the 3,489 did. The wage is the midpoint of the employer's range. Brackets show the middle half (25th-75th percentile) and the number of posts. A dash means fewer than 5 posts.

OnlineJobs.ph lists at most 285 results per search. 15 of the 20 searches returned 261-284 posts, so they hit that cap before reaching 30 days back: for those roles the table covers the newest posts, not the whole month. Bookkeeper (206), graphic designer (237), project manager (127), web developer (38) and content writer (32) are the full 30-day count for those exact phrases. The last two are small samples.

By type of work

Type of work (employer's choice) USD per month USD per hour PHP per month Median hours a week
Full Time (2,136 posts) $900 ($650-$1,250, n=914) $5.50 ($4.00-$7.50, n=547) ₱45,000 (₱30,000-₱67,500, n=297) 40
Part Time (743) $450 ($275-$600, n=143) $5.00 ($4.37-$7.00, n=432) ₱25,000 (₱17,250-₱33,375, n=40) 20
Any (510) $800 ($500-$1,200, n=166) $5.00 ($4.00-$7.00, n=165) ₱40,000 (₱27,375-₱48,750, n=30) 40
Gig (100) $400 ($300-$1,500, n=25) $6.00 ($4.12-$9.88, n=46) - 15

As a cross-check, $5.50 an hour × 40 hours × 4.33 weeks comes to $953 a month, close to the $900 monthly median. Employers price hourly and monthly offers about the same.

How the numbers were measured

  • Source: OnlineJobs.ph's public job search and job pages, read with the OnlineJobs.ph Scraper Actor on Apify. I ran 20 searches, each with postedWithinDays: 30, details on and no cap, on 3 November 2026. That gave 4,752 rows, which de-duplicated by job id to 3,489 posts. Posted dates run from 2026-10-04 12:00 UTC to 2026-11-03 09:32 UTC. At least 17 posts were deleted by their employers between listing and reading and are not counted.
  • Wages are what the employer typed. The Actor parses ranges ("$4-$8 per hour"), "k" ("20k"), currency words and symbols, and the period. 47% of stated wages lacked a currency symbol, a period or both ("700-1000", "600/month"). For those, the parser infers what is missing from the size: up to $50 is hourly, $100 or more is monthly, 5,000 or more is pesos per month. Those rows carry salaryInferred: true. The headline holds either way. Full-time monthly USD is a median of $1,000 for explicit wages (n=425) and $850 for inferred ones (n=489); hourly is $5.00 explicit and $5.50 inferred.
  • No currency conversion. Dollar and peso offers are reported separately so no exchange rate is assumed. 3% of wages are in AUD, CAD, GBP or EUR and are left out of the tables.
  • What a "job" is: one post. An employer posting the same role twice counts twice. The busiest employers posted 9-10 jobs each in the window, so no single employer moves the medians.
  • Not measured: what people were actually paid, raises and bonuses ("$500 + bonus" counts as $500), and posts hidden from logged-out visitors. No login was used. Employer names appear on 13% of posts (when the employer shows a logo), and no contact details were collected.

OnlineJobs.ph has no public job API. The OnlineJobs.ph Scraper returns one row per job post: title, type of work, wage as written and parsed to salaryMin/salaryMax/salaryCurrency/salaryPeriod, hours per week, skills, posting time and the full description. It needs no login or proxy and costs $0.0008 per job plus $0.001 per run. The 4,752 rows behind this article cost about $3.82 at the list price.
