ColdFusion Timeout Error During Large File Processing

The upload form has worked perfectly for years. Users send 5 MB PDFs every day without complaint. Today, the marketing team starts uploading 200 MB video files. Half of them fail. The error message says nothing useful. Some attempts produce a generic “request has exceeded the allowable time limit” message. Others produce “Post Size exceeds the maximum limit.” A few return “HTTP Error 413.1 — Request Entity Too Large.” Still others succeed at the upload stage but crash during post-processing with OutOfMemoryError.
