Iโve officially joined Hacktoberfest 2026! ๐
As a computer science student, Iโve been working on different projects and learning technologies like Git, GitHub, web development, Python, and AI. But contributing to open-source projects is something I really wanted to experience more seriously.
So this Hacktoberfest, Iโm challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone and contribute to real-world open-source projects.
๐ฏ My Goals for Hacktoberfest 2026
- Make meaningful contributions to open-source projects
- Improve my Git and GitHub workflow
- Learn how real-world projects are structured
- Understand how to read and contribute to someone else's code
- Communicate better through issues, pull requests, and discussions
- Learn from experienced developers and the open-source community
๐ป What Iโm Looking Forward To
Iโm especially interested in contributing to projects related to:
- Web Development ๐
- Python ๐
- AI & Machine Learning ๐ค
- Developer Tools ๐ ๏ธ
- Student-focused projects ๐
I know my first contribution might not be perfect, and I may face merge conflicts, unfamiliar codebases, or even rejected pull requests. But that's part of the learning process.
For me, Hacktoberfest isn't just about completing a checklist. It's an opportunity to learn by contributing, collaborate with developers, and become more comfortable with open source.
Here's to learning, contributing, and making my first steps into the open-source community! ๐
