I Tried Making a Spotify Clone and Ended Up Making This Instead :)
I originally wanted to make a Spotify clone. Somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to make a Spotify clone and started building my own music player.
And that's how EarBliss happened.
EarBliss is a browser-based music player with a dark UI, purple and green accents, rounded cards, a sidebar, playlists, search, queue, a persistent bottom player, playback controls, a visualizer, and a few other things I wanted to experiment with.
The name is basically Ear + Bliss lol.
I spent a lot of time deciding how I wanted it to look and behave, fixing things when they broke, choosing the songs, refining the UI, and getting everything ready to actually use.
One thing I wanted was for it to feel like an actual music player rather than just another UI concept.
So instead of stopping at a pretty interface, I added actual songs and built the player around them.
The final version has 18 songs, with features like:
- Search
- Recently Played
- Trending
- Playlists and library
- Queue
- Mini Player
- Playback controls
- Playback speed
- Volume control
- Visualizer
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Album artwork
- Persistent bottom player
It's definitely not Spotify, and that wasn't really the point anymore.
I mainly wanted to see how far I could take the idea and turn it into something that actually feels like a little music app.
And honestly, I'm pretty happy with where it ended up.
EarBliss is finally ready! :))
