Figuring It Out

I think it’s time to start from scratch. Again.

The AI space is moving at a pace that sometimes makes you question everything you’ve spent years learning. Things that once required hours of coding, debugging, and figuring things out can now be done in minutes with the help of AI.

And honestly? It can be intimidating.

You start wondering whether the skills you’ve built are becoming obsolete, whether you’re falling behind, or whether you’ve already missed the wave.

For a while, I found myself caught up in these thoughts. But I’ve come to realise something: being afraid of falling behind doesn’t help you catch up. Showing up and learning does.

So, here I am. Starting my journey into AI, from absolute scratch.

And when I say AI, I mean all of it. Or at least as much as I can possibly explore. From the fundamentals of machine learning and neural networks to LLMs, agents, RAG, model training, AI infrastructure, and whatever comes next.

I don’t have a perfect roadmap. I don’t have all the answers. And I’m definitely not going to pretend I know more than I do.

The goal isn't just to learn how to use AI tools or write better prompts. I want to understand what’s happening under the hood, how these systems work, what they can and cannot do, and how to build things with them.

I want to move from being someone who uses AI to someone who truly understands it. And, eventually, build with it.

Will I be able to overpower AI? I don't know. Maybe that's not even the right way to look at it.

But I do know that the best way to overcome the fear of being replaced by something you don't understand is to start understanding it.

It's easy to feel like you're too late when everyone else seems to be ten steps ahead. But there is still so much to learn, so much to build, and so much that hasn't even been figured out yet.

There is time. It is never too late. Sometimes, all it takes is the will to begin.

This blog will be my logbook along the way — the things I learn, the things I build, the things I get wrong, and the things that finally click.

No pretending to be an expert. No waiting until I know enough to start sharing.

Just learning in public, one step at a time.

Let's figure it out.
