I just saw the announcement and am seeing so many good posts am afraid of doing it cause i have never won one but am ready to put my best foot forward

You can do it! Don't worry about other submissions. (Most likes != Win).
It's my first time, and it's only the first time once ;)
🤣
I just submitted mine and this was really fun for me. I created it around a passion and hobby of mine, crocheting. And it's my first submission so I'm really excited to finally participate!

Submitted! My father spent decades publishing horticulture research — I built a grounded RAG assistant so growers can query those papers without hallucinated rootstock codes or spray rates.

Good luck everyone 🔥
Excited to let the passion WIN!!! 🥰
Good Luck!
Just submitted mine and it was a genuine pleasure. I built DuelUp Live, an AI announcer that calls beach-sport duels play-by-play (Gemini writes it, ElevenLabs voices it): footvolley, beach tennis, tennis and beach volleyball. I made it for my real futevôlei crew back in Brazil, the sport I play every single day, so building it never felt like work.
If anyone wants a look, ring the bell and it calls the match live: dev.to/vinimabreu/i-gave-my-futevo...
Good luck to everyone who joined!

Its a good way for "DEV community" to get unique ideas from people all over the world, because let's be frank, this event is tailored to get projects that have been ongoing / completed long before this "passion-week", in contrast to something like a "Game Jam" where the rules are tailored to reflect the spirit of the event, which is "A project created during the weekend."
Just submitted mine too! I built PassionCast, an AI-powered experience that turns the memories behind what you love into a narrated mini-documentary using Gemini and ElevenLabs.
I wanted to explore the emotional side of passion—not just what people love, but why it matters to them.
I’d love for you to check it out and share your thoughts:

Good luck to everyone joining the challenge! ❤️🔥
Hello,
Good luck to everyone taking part in the challenge! I’m looking forward to discovering what you’ve built.
Here’s my submission and it's my about my passion for software engineering. The project is about how to automate the software development lifecycle : dev.to/marrouchi/how-i-turned-slac...
Must the project, be newly built, from the time of the announcement, or those previously built mvps supported.
asking, cause, the announcement was made today, and am already seeing couple of sumissions.
Submitted mine over the weekend! 💛 I built a passion-filled travel companion — a warm voice that walks Myeongdong (my favourite Seoul district) with you, telling the real stories behind every street. I brought her to life as Myeongdong 3D: real GPS guide in Seoul, but anyone can try it in simulation mode — an avatar walks the streets for you.

One thing though — I submitted on July 12, but my post doesn't show in related feed or search (already emailed support). Could someone from the team take a look? 🙏
Thank you so much!
Lee (@gracelee087)
@jess @michaeltharrington
👋 Sorry for the ping! This is my first DEV challenge, so I'm not sure if I did everything right. I published my submission on July 12 with the #weekendchallenge tag, but it doesn't show up in the tag feed or site search — maybe a new-account filter? I'd just love to know: is my submission included in the judging pool? Thank you! 🙏
mine doesnt show either, ever figure this out? submitted 7/10....
@gracelee087 @danmercede both of your submissions are included in the judging pool!
Love these hackathons, but I just wish that the feedback loop for results was faster. 17 days to wait for the results for a weekend challenge seems really long. The number of submissions might be the limiting factor, but I hope that dev.to can do something about it. Results within a week would be incredible.
Hey! Are there any writers out there who really enjoy writing? It would be great to get feedback on this submission!

Just submitted mine! 🔥 Built roaster0 — an AI that roasts your GitHub profile using your real repo data (Gemini-powered), then ends with one earned, genuine compliment. Also has a "Roast Anything" mode for names, bios, links, or images if you don't have a GitHub to roast.
Would love any feedback: HERE
Good luck to everyone else who submitted this weekend! ❤️🔥
Aaaaaand we just got a submission :
Hello,
Good luck to everyone taking part in the challenge! I’m looking forward to discovering what you’ve built.
Here’s my submission and it's my about my passion for software engineering. The project is about how to automate the software development lifecycle : dev.to/marrouchi/how-i-turned-slac...
My submission 🔥 Passion Profiler — an AI that scores and speaks what a YouTuber truly loves, using Google Gemini + ElevenLabs. dev.to/aman_bhawsar_8ec322eb7815/p...
Just shipped my submission for the Weekend Challenge 🚀
I built Passionaut, an AI-powered 3D knowledge atlas that turns any passion into an explorable constellation of concepts, techniques, projects, and connections using Google Gemini, WebGL, and Web Audio.
I'd love to hear what topic you would map first - astrophysics, game development, music, gpus, or something completely different?

Feedback and ideas are very welcome!
Guys this is COSMOS, I have built using three.js please read this tweet and GitHub link is available.

Seems like im the last one to submit, 4h until final deadline
Anyway, here is my project dev.to/younesfdj/the-world-cup-is-...
Yoo gng just finished my submission. Made exploded a 3D website where you can see models of things around you. As tinkerers, we always love taking stuff apart and seeing how they work but they usually are not put back together. Here have no fears select the object and explode it and click on different components and have Gemini explain it to you. Feeling lazy to click ? Turn on the tour mode and let ElevenLabs guide you through.
Here's my post: dev.to/ananth_ram_omkar/exploded-b...
Do check it out and give reviews !!
(First weekend challenge btw)
Hello guys, first time participating in this weekend competition. This is my submission:dev.to/govinda_upadhya52/-drukpass.... Went through the other submission by the talented participants and I am truly amazed by what they have built. Got many ideas.
Happy to participate! My submission is PunamIDE, an AI-powered desktop IDE built with Rust, Tauri, React, and Monaco.
One of the core goals was to go beyond AI chat by adding AST-based code analysis and architectural intelligence. I'd love to hear feedback from fellow developers, and I'm excited to check out everyone else's entries as well. 🚀

hello everyone One workspace for developers. Analyze, review, explain, test, and debug your code in one place.”
I am already bilt ai as a developer fully space in online platform
“I’m not building another AI. I’m building a workspace that helps developers do everything from one place.”
Didn’t see my submission. I really worked hard on this
My project to joined:dev.to/bright_jack_6ae0a31b96b6c/r.... What I Built
Ritual Radio is a World Cup fan-ritual announcer. It takes the superstitions fans actually do before a match —
Really enjoyed this weekend challenge! I built PassionSpace, an offline-first dashboard for tracking hobbies, side projects, and personal passions. If you'd like to check it out, I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
dev.to/sammynug/how-i-built-passio...
is project code need to be open source?
@jess do you know?
Anyone know why some posts have an official "DEV Weekend Challenge: Passion Edition Submission" badge on their posts but some do not? I noticed mine doesn't have the badge, despite using the submission template and required tags.
Just submitted my entry, check it out!
As I love competitive programming (even though I am pretty bad at it), I built nemesis, a place where you can easily compete with a friend(or a rival) and see who's winning. The exciting part is that I also included a season score, so someone who's winning today might not win next week.
dev.to/srijan_pandey_602b027d643/n...
Just submitted mine! 🔥 Built "Obsession Tracker" — an AI agent that scores how obsessed you were based on your work log, using Gemini API. Would love any feedback: dev.to/spideyashith/obsession-trac...
Thanks for putting this challenge together, was a fun weekend build!
This challenge made me think about a question I've never seen traditional career platforms answer:
What if AI could discover what truly drives you—not from a personality quiz, but from the projects you've actually built?
That's why I built PassionDNA AI 🧬. It combines GitHub analysis with a personalized Google Gemini interview to generate an explainable PassionDNA report backed by evidence instead of guesses.
It was an amazing weekend of learning, debugging, and building. I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts and feedback. 🚀

Hyped!
Hello everyone! Does anyone know which timezone dev.to typically uses? For example, what timezone will the winner announcement follow?
Hello. Can I participate with a project that I`ve been working on for some time, or do I need to create something new in these three days?
This is awesome!!!!!
Just submitted my entry! Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think.
