Top 7 Featured DEV Posts from the Past Week

Every Tuesday we round up the previous week's top posts based on traffic, engagement, and a hint of editorial curation. The typical week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday, but don't worry, we take into account posts that are published later in the week.

Top Free Heroku Alternatives

You’ve likely heard that Heroku announced that they will shut down free Heroku Dynos, free Heroku Postgres, and free Heroku Data for Redis after November 28th, 2022. Here are some of the best alternatives selected by @meshvpatel18.

SSR Performance in JS Frameworks

It’s no understatement to say that there are lots of JS frameworks out there to choose from. New frameworks often bring innovation to the JS ecosystem. 👏 Altogether nice roundup of articles! I see that Render is listed as an alternative in the "Top Free Heroku Alternatives". I'm Render's Developer Community Manager and it seems like a good time to chime in with some extra context for those considering a move from Heroku to Render.

First, anyone interested in migrating from Heroku to Render should take a look at our documentation and blogs (Django-specific) and (Rails-specific) in support of that. I'd also like to highlight our latest blog post on updates to the heroku-import tool to make it as easy as possible!
