Yesterday start my first holydays session in this crazy year.
I finished the first round of modernize a large legacy ( 4 - 7 old ) react / node / AWS / dynamodb / S3 buckets, version handling tool with a europe and middle east wide used web application.
From the old node 12 / react 16 / webpack / babel -> node 22 / react 19 / pnpm / vite.

At this moment I don't spend to time to refactor the code, and even don't touch the react 16. Just I cut down the package.json line number from 300 to 150. The 150 extra dependency just belong to webpack / babel dependencies ( this is contain almost any babel proposal plugin even lot of them unused )

  • Did my first substantial dev.to post related to importing data into SQLite3.
  • Had a good job interview experience. Learnt some new stuff.

I agree about writing down things done to remember them.

Probably at the end of this week I completed something that will have an impact on the project for years to come.
