Finding Plugin Gaps
I've been experimenting with a way to find small software opportunities using real developer requests instead of brainstorming ideas.
For the first experiment, I looked at the Roblox plugin ecosystem.
I analyzed 999 developer requests, grouped them into 66 related problems, checked 399 API and capability pages, and reviewed 157 existing plugins in targeted searches.
The interesting part was that demand alone wasn't enough.
Some ideas that initially looked strong turned out to already have good solutions. Others had recently been addressed by Roblox itself.
So I built PluginGap to make the research easier to explore and highlight ideas that still seem worth investigating.

I'm curious whether this kind of research would be useful when deciding what to build next.
What other signals would you want to see before deciding an idea is worth building?
