Day 1326 : Wins and Losses

liner notes:

  • Professional : Started my morning with a meeting with some new folks on the call for a new thing we are doing at work to help increase communication and cross collaboration across teams in the company. Always cool meeting folks from different parts of the company and hear about they are working on and how we can align with the stuff we are working on. I responded to a community question and researched some for another one before I replied. I continued work on adding a feature to a project that I created to help folks learn about our products by coding in the browser while following some steps. I got to a pretty good point I think and will go through a full test run through tomorrow. Had another online learning session. After that, I wanted to see how far I could get with creating a new MCP App. I created one before that worked, but I was blocked by some limitations placed by some MCP Clients to be able to access the microphone. I decided I would pivot to creating another MCP App that shouldn't have any limitations placed on it because it's pretty basic. I did some research on the different parts needed earlier this week. To make things go faster, I created the sample app from the MCP docs and created a template that I can fork in Stackblitz, create a repo on GitHub and then use Codespace to work on the MCP App and have a publicly available URL that I can test with. Should hopefully speed me up when creating new MCP Apps. There's a few I'm looking to create. Like I mentioned earlier, I did a bunch of research into the MCP App that I wanted to make and wondered if Google Gemini could spin something up. At first, it seemed like it didn't know what MCP Apps were, so I linked it to the documentation as well as the other research I created and told it in detail what I am looking for. After a little back and forth, it looks like it came up with something pretty good. I still need to test it. Speaking of testing, I had Gemini look at an API spec and have it generated some sample data that I could use to test the MCP App. It all came together relatively quickly. I still need to test everything though.

  • Personal : Last night, I went through some tracks for the radio show, but got derailed when I learned that my charge back request for what in my opinion was a scam on Kickstarter was denied. I, again, used Gemini to do deep research to see if I could reopen my case. I got some documents together and uploaded it to Gemini. It looked at all sorts of different angles that I didn't think of. It may have found something that I can rest my case on. It even drafted me a letter that I can send to have my case reopened. There's a random package that is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, so we'll see if it's the item I backed since I haven't heard anything from the company itself. After that rabbit hole, it was pretty late and I was tired, so I went to sleep. At the end of the day, it's all wins and losses and the important thing is how you react to them.

A close-up, ground-level view of a small, gnarled evergreen shrub growing in a vast field of tall, wild grasses and low-lying vegetation. The scene is bathed in the warm, golden glow of a sunset or sunrise, creating a soft, ethereal bokeh effect in the background where the light filters through the foliage.

How is it Wednesday? The week is flying by. Going to eat dinner and get to work on putting together tracks for the radio show and pick up projects on Bandcamp and start putting together the social media posts. Depending on how I feel. Before going to bed, I might just try out the MCP App that I ended the work day with. I want to try and do a demo at the team meeting so I can get some feedback before I implement it into the MCP server. I'm hungry and about to get started with my night.

Have a great night!

peace piece
