  • Professional : A pretty productive day. I had a meeting where the different areas of the company focused on one product come together and give updates and asks questions. This is where I hear about new things and start planning for the work I'll need to do. I finished updating this integration with some new info and closed the ticket. I went back to this application I was working on before I got put into another project and almost got it completed. I went through a pull request on a repository I'm maintaining and cleaned it up a little to clear any merge conflicts. Also had a really good meeting with some folks about some upcoming workshops. Could be something really dope! Looking forward to seeing where it goes. It's been a thing I've been suggesting for a while. Good to see my ideas showing up and take form.

  • Personal : Just been focusing on this record project. Getting really close to finalizing the protypes.

A breathtaking, wide-angle view looking over a wide, glassy lake nestled against rolling mountain ridges under a bright, partly cloudy sky. On the right side, a rocky, textured shoreline with small tree stumps transitions into a dense, vibrant green coniferous forest that blankets the slopes of a towering mountain. The calm, mirror-like surface of the blue water beautifully reflects the hazy silhouettes of distant, layered mountain peaks fading into the light on the horizon, capturing a serene and majestic Pacific Northwest wilderness scene. The setting is Easton, WA, USA.

This morning I came up with how I want to connect the parts for this item in the record package. It came to me in a dream and when I woke up, I drew a quick sketch. haha After work, I stayed in the shed modelling the parts and 3D printing them. After a couple of iterations, I got it to a point where I can take it and incorporate it in the overall design. This has been a blocker for me for a while. Going to get the full item worked out tonight so I can print it tomorrow. I also printed out a test piece in the filament that I will be using and used the UV laser to make a test matrix so I can see how it engraves at different speeds and power levels giving the part's surface different shades and colors, mostly a kind of yellow. I modified the artwork for the piece so that larger parts will be 3D printed while the fine details will be added with the laser. It should print a lot faster since the printer doesn't need to try and recreate a bunch of curves. I modeled a test print with parts of the artwork so I can see how they look with the UV engraving without having to print the whole piece. I'm out! Going to eat dinner and get to modelling. I may go through some tracks on Bandcamp to see what I want to pick up this week. Can't believe it's Wednesday already!
