A few months ago I started another side project. The hardest part wasn't writing code.
It wasn't designing the UI.
It wasn't deployment.
It was finding a domain name.
I'd come up with a name I liked, search for it, and... it was taken.
Again.
And again.
After wasting far too much time repeating that cycle, I decided to build a tool to help me instead.
That project became ZeroTaken.
One thing I learned while building it is that generating names is actually the easy part. The difficult part is generating names that are both meaningful and still available.
That turned into the main goal of the project.
I'm still improving it, and I'm sure there are things I haven't thought of yet.
So I'd love to hear from other developers and founders.
How do you normally name your projects?
Do you have a process, or do you just brainstorm until something sticks?
