I tried both Cursor and Antigravity(1.20) - Switching Context - which one is better?

Both will get the Job done - Cursor is better.

The latest version of Antigravity is pure Agentic (which by the way I dislike so far, I decided not to upgrade and reverted back to older version of Antigravity (1.20)

I installed both Cursor (Free Tier - I do not have a paid account - yet) and Antigravity (1.20)(Free Tier) and started playing around, creating projects, designing SaaS toolkits and "Copy-to-Improve" Framework
these are my top take away.

As you all know both are build as fork of VS source code.
I feel Cursor has done a much better job of making the UI feel smooth and seamless, Antigravity(1.20) is not so bad but you can definitely feel the difference. Simple editor features and display at the right place make so much difference, one time I spent 15 minutes searching for a simple editor function I could not find on Antigravity.

Cursor

Pros

  1. Designed and build for Coders who are both comfortable typing in code and also use Agent to complete their code.
  2. More Auto complete features.
  3. Bug Prompting and fixing.
  4. Context Aware.
  5. Auto mode - Cursor determines the best approach and model.

Cons

  1. Can get expensive(heard from other developers)
  2. The free tier is small. Once it is over it is over.
  3. Depending on your coding experience, you might find you need to guide Cursor a little more while developing solutions.

Antigravity

Pros
1.It prioritizes Gemini 3.5 - Pro/Flash( Low, Medium, Fast), all are pretty good with context and coding assistance, but there are other models you can use from drop down.
2.Very generous Free Tier - refreshed every week.
3.Context Aware coding.
4.Bug Prompting and auto bug fixing.
5.Implementation Plan and execution walkthrough.

Cons.

  1. Editor features are mixed up.
  2. Some extension are not supported by Antigravity.
  3. It feels it is still in experimental, I tried the Gemini-3.5 in planning mode and it went in a loop for couple of minutes and started to hallucinate.

As a developer I feel both are huge win for all developers out there building stuff whether you use Cursor or Antigravity there is so much to explore, build and do.
