The business logic around an AI model deserves its own home
When an AI provider changes a feature, a team can discover that its actual workflow was embedded in the app around the model.
I run Eterna Clarity. The direction I'm building toward is to separate three things deliberately.
Source knowledge
Keep the source documents and business information accessible outside a conversation history. An exported chat is useful context, but it is not a replacement for the records the workflow depends on.
Workflow definition
Describe the sequence, inputs, outputs and operator decisions independently of a provider's interface. That gives a replacement integration something concrete to implement.
Provider integration
Treat the model and its tool connection as one implementation of that workflow. A replacement provider still needs adapted calls, evaluation and human review where the work calls for it.
This is not a claim that switching models is free or automatic. Models differ, and a workflow that worked well with one may need changes for another.
The practical question is whether that work starts from business assets you control, or from trying to reconstruct what happened inside an app.
The accompanying founder video explains why I care about that distinction. A price rise or missing feature can expose this dependency even if no AI bubble ever bursts.
If you want to discuss a business setup built around these questions, contact Eterna.
