Hello everyone, I'm Evan Lin, a Senior Developer Relations Engineer from the LINE Taiwan Developer Relations and Technical Promotion Department. LINE launched the "LINE Developer Community Program" in Taiwan at the beginning of 2019, investing long-term manpower and resources in Taiwan to hold developer community gatherings, recruitment days, developer conferences, etc., both internally and externally, online and offline. After more than a year of effort, we have held over thirty community gatherings and related activities. For more details, please refer to: LINE Taiwan Developer Relations 2019 Review and 2019 Developer Community Program Report.
Regarding what Developer Relations and Technical Promotion Department is and the three main themes of the developer community program, you are also welcome to check out the 2019 LINE Developer Community Program Activity Schedule.
I would like to share with you the main themes of this year's developer community program and some exciting activities.
More Participation Possibilities: Online Interactive Live Streaming and Recording
We received feedback from many participants that due to time and venue limitations, many activities could not be attended on-site, and it was difficult to find related recording resources after the events. Also, due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many offline community activities have been affected. This year, the team will try to open the online live streaming portion of the LINE official account "LINE Developer Official Community", and will also supplement relevant recording resources in the official channel later (to be supplemented).
Calling all Campus Elites: LINE TECH FRESH - Technical Star Talent Program
This year's developer community program will plan to develop in campuses. In addition to planning academic competitions with related schools, we will also hold some recruitment and promotion activities with schools. We hope to let many school elites understand the LINE platform better, and also understand how to build cross-national collaborations that can carry these services. We also welcome more students to join us. Furthermore, we have expanded the LINE TECH Fresh program this year.
Every year, the LINE Taiwan engineering team recruits undergraduate/graduate students from information technology-related departments or those who have some knowledge in this field to join the LINE team for long-term internships (one year) through the LINE TECH FRESH - Technical Star Talent Program, allowing students to have the opportunity to observe and learn in an international technology company. LINE TECH FRESH is led by two experienced technical project managers who lead the team to engage in diverse projects and product development, learn the actual software project division of labor in the industry, and experience cross-national team collaboration. In previous years, the work content included server, web, mobile app, chatbot, IoT, data, DevOps, and other fields, and through internships, students become familiar with the LINE platform system, SDK, API, etc. For students who are passionate about software development and have ideas, don't miss this opportunity to unleash your creativity and drive!
More Internal Developer Activities
This year, we will design related programming competitions for LINE internal developers, allowing everyone to still be creative while rushing projects. Let's build products that make users WOW together. More related plans are being prepared intensively.
