Yesterday, the most shocking thing at WWDC 2024 was Apple redefining the abbreviation of AI - Apple Intelligence. You can refer to this short video 5 mins in Apple Intelligence
- All calculations are performed locally, mainly including GenMoji, email summaries, spelling and grammar rewriting, information integration, photo classification, etc.
- Through MLX technology, plus what is said to be a match for the MSFT Phi-3B model (various language support to be confirmed, Apple also admits that it may not support all languages)
- Hardware requirements : iPhone 15 Pro or later, iPad Pro (M1), and laptops are all M1 or later
More relevant to me personally:
- Perfectly integrated ecosystem (increasing everyone's use of Apple Apps). I myself will probably consider switching Gmail -> Apple Email, and Calendar as well.
- Local LLM model plus Embedding plus other content, the phone's storage space will be used more.
- The rest should be things that are very convenient, such as booking information input, various email tone and grammar corrections (grammarly should be dead for a long time).
- Remember to buy iPhone 16 + iCloud XD
