Google Gives Students a Free Year of Gemini AI With a New Student Hub

Google is giving eligible college students free access to its paid Gemini AI plans for one year, along with a new Student Hub designed to make studying a little easier.

In the U.S., eligible students can get Google AI Pro free for 12 months.

Students in many other countries, including India, can get Google AI Plus free for a year.

The new Gemini Student Hub brings several useful study tools together in one place.

Students can create study notes, quizzes, flashcards, study plans, and visual explanations based on their learning needs.

They can also upload class materials, take quizzes, and find areas where they need more practice.

Gemini can then create smaller lessons and quizzes to help them improve.

Google is also working on features that can pick out exam and assignment dates from a syllabus and add them to Google Calendar, with the student's permission.

More learning features are also coming to Google Search, Google Lens, and Gemini Live, giving students more ways to understand and revise difficult topics.

The current student offer is available until December 31, 2026, depending on eligibility and supported regions.

One thing students should keep in mind is that a payment method is required.

After the free year, the plan can become a paid subscription unless it is cancelled beforehand.

Overall, Google is moving Gemini beyond simple questions and answers, making it more useful as a study and organisation tool for college students.
