The EU has also asked Google to share certain anonymous search data with approved AI companies and search engines.
This will help them improve their search and AI tools while keeping users' personal information protected.
The first data-sharing rules are expected to begin in January 2027, followed by Android platform changes in July 2027.
Through these updates, the EU aims to create a fairer AI market, encourage innovation, and give users more freedom when using digital services.
